could somenone please tell how to install alienarena.I downloaded it from thier site and could not find install directions.it is on the desktop.

Open the terminal then:

cd Desktop
sudo sh alienarena-2006ue-x86.run

Just follow the default settings. BUT don't hit the Run Alien Arena button, instead exit the installer (the reason why is that you'll run into permission problem if you do so).

/usr/local/games/alienarena2006/AlienArena
to launch the game or applications tab ---> other

If you downloaded it from the site, what you have is a .zip file. Just copy it to user/local/games and then unzip it. It'll put everything in an alienarena2008 folder, and then execute crx or crx.sdl(if you have sound or input probs).

im having the same problem. when i unzip it to My Games it comes up with this error:

/home/evan/My Games/alienarena-linux20100504.zip.zip, and cannot find /home/evan/My Games/alienarena-linux20100504.zip.ZIP, period.

scratch that last. on second try it works, but all it does is extract the .zip to the My Games folder and that's it. how do i install from there?

ok, i finally got it installed, but now it's as slow as death! what do i do now?! :(
