My System:
766 MB RAM
2.8 GHZ Processor
Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller
Creative SB Live! Series
18.6 GB Space Left
Would I be able to play games like WoW, the Quake series with a decent FPS for maximum fun? XD

The only thing I would worry about is whether your graphics is up to speed with the new games. If its a problem, on most games you can trade off detail for FPS.
The rest of your machine is plenty good!

Do you have ubuntu installed yet? If you can get hardware rendering w/ your video card then the answer is yes, you will be able to get WoW running. If your card doesnt have linux drivers, then no, you probably wont be able to play WoW or any other 3d games on linux. I would suggest buying a nice nvidia card for your gaming, before I upgraded my system I used a 6600gt, they arent that expensive, and they run pretty decently.
An ati card would probably work too, but they are a hastle to set up, and not everything works w/ them in linux, their proprietary linux drivers arent that good, but now that amd is buying them, (i think) their drivers might get better (though i would still recommend a nvidia card).
now I get 45-55 fps in WoW (using cedega). my system is pretty nice though...
amd64 4200+ x2, nvidia xfx7900gt, 2.5 gigs of ddr ram
hope it helps :D
