Hello! I hope that this forum might help me and other ones trying to do this:
I often install ubuntu servers with some additional applications that I have to download from additional repositories (i.e. iptraf, nmap, mc, ntop, nanoweb, etc.) plus my own scripts and applications. Now I also need to compile a custom kernel in order to enable imq and random, mpath and other iptables modules.
The question is: how do I create an install CD with the core of ubuntu server, the additional applications and the customized kernel?
Though I've learned everything netsurfing, studying and testing, I cannot answer the former question and:
1) will the customized kernel work in any other machine (at least 686 intel compatible)?
I've reached the end of my research. I feel I cannot go any further by myself. Please help me. Thanks!
