How to change my DNS?

I'm new to linux, I has setup my Samba & apache server in my ubuntu server,
but I can't uses abc.abc.abc as my domain name, I try many way as I know but not work at all, hope someone can help me. Thanks.

Sorry forgot to tell, this server for local use only, and apache not going publish out to WAN.

have you configured bind on your system ?

If named service is down then you cannot use a domain name to link to IP address.
