Dear all,

I've been searching for an extensive Gnome text editor for PHP / Python programming purposes. Currently I'm using Jedit which is so cool (in my opinion best so far) but its major drawback is that it is soooo slow and heavy...

I did tried a few editors besides Jedit (http://jedit.org/) like: Bluefish, Quanta, VIM, eMACS, gVIM, Cream, Screem, Leafpad, Scribes, Nedit, Eddi, and others but couldn't find any chemistry in there :). Lately I came across SciTE (http://www.scintilla.org/SciTE.html) wich is so great but unfortunately can't extend it with FTP or SSH2 capabilities, all kinds of macros, SVN, project management, custom hotkeys, etc ... Could you please let me know if you're using something like the above described and eventually where can I get it?

Thanks a lot for your help, looking forward to hear from you!

Regards,
Rem.
