audacity question?

Hey guys, I tried to export a file to an .mp3 format, but it says that it cannot find libmp3lame.so

I tried to locate it but it's not there. I tried root terminal to install it but it says it cannot find package.

You need to get lame. Use synaptic. If not you're gonna have to compile it ](*,) I was able to do it when I was a new to linux; good luck!

don't worry about compiling it. It's in Synaptic.
