Hello All,

After I log in, the brown Ubuntu screen comes up while loading gnome, etc. How can I change this screen?

Thanks

Applications > System Tools > Configuration Editor > apps > gnome-session > options > splash_image > change.it [not literally...]

You can also change the Boot Loaders ugly black background, just get grubconf and grub-splashimages [or ones from the net; or create your own] .

Cool, I found it. Can you also change the brown background behind the splash screen here?

I think change the background color of your wallpaper and the background color of the login window will change the color, but the splash screen isn't activated. Is that what you want: to activate it? Or change the login screen?

EDIT: nvm, you are using KDE, didn't notice until just now

:) yeah, i have kdm theme manager and have changed the login screen, but the default blue splash just before coming to the desktop is annoying as heck.
