I installed steam thrue cedege cvs build. But when i open it and try to login it just tells me:
Could not connect to steam network.
This could be due to a problem with your internet connection, or with the Steam network. Please visit....
Everything works fine in windows though.

That would be problems with the CVS you downloaded. Peoplehave been using the cvs for ages on linux-gamers.net without problems [most of them - once they get to compile it].
I personally run the full Cedega 4.3 though, and yes, CounterStrike [steam] is all I use it for .

Uhm  irrelevant your honor ! ..
The subscription is basically only useful for Point2Play, not Cedega, wich doesn't even ask for it.
And I'm not answering that (no need to know about my *personal* stuff) .. 8-[

Well someone said at linuxgamers.net forums that cvscedega perhaps doesnīt work with steam but wine will. I donīt know if this is true because i havent tried wine, but fought with cvscedega enough to judge it as "notworking" for me.

cvscedega should work. its a development release of cedega official, wich works great for warty/hoary and counter strike .

Ok. So perhaps i was too jumpy on that opinion, but at least itīs harder to install then :)

Well yes, cvs installs, specially cvscedega are usually one-sided wildcards . Personally I didn't have any luck with cvscedega, so I acquired Cedega4.3 and solved all my gaming problems [my only problem was CStrike though..] . I have heard wine has good support for cedega, but I'm not having problems with 4.3 so I haven't even gave that a shot .
