Ok, lets organize a bit. Soon I will have a site up for use (with bug tracking) but until then lets try to claim the bugs we are fixing here.
We have a launch pad now.
https://launchpad.net/products/usp
No bugs here just reporting please. Also, post here with the message I WILL HELP so we know you want to join the project.
Main Developer:
chanders (schanderbally at gmail.com)
Developers:
profoX (profoX at ubuntu-nl.org)
note360 (note360 at gmail.com)
UPDATE: first bug tracking is out I know I missed alot please PM me with the ones I missed.
Bugs:
If you enable "do_not_filter". Then the headings in the "All Applications" do not work. e.g. If I click on "Office" nothing will happen.
-profoX kinda fixed it
Features:
Places in the side pane (with the pin and stuff)(allow it to be toggled off?)
add icons to the toggle bar side thing...like the places icons (http://delfick755.googlepages.com/icons.png)
Start App and the add to startup on right click
Bigger Place Icons - chanders (I assume)
Drag the desktop folder to places - profoX already did it (not done yet)
Gconf entry to change the text colour in USP - profoX
Having the places pane share bookmarks with the places system of nautilus & the original menu, since they serve the same purpose. It would also be easier when using a removable hard drive. The network items could be placed in a cascading menu to save some space and the removable drives too, if there are too many.
having a 'favorites' category as the first category in the application pane when it's in 'all applications' mode. This category could be active by default when opening the menu. I normally only use the 'all applications' mode because I open too many applications frequently to make efficient use of the current favorites mode. Having a favorites category in all applications mode would allow me to have the best of both.
having the button of an application category in a pressed state when the category is active (because now you have to scan the list of apps to see which category is shown)
Proposals:
