Using KDE and am getting heavily into the configuration of themes, colour schemes and all types of gui configuration.

Seen Splashy and quite like the look it, but researching it on these forums, alot of people are having alot of problems with the boot up and in some cases the system not booting ?!

Do you guys use it and think its worth it?

It isn't worth it at all.
If you're lucky, you'll get glibc errors and (if you're using Debian Sarge) have to install more packages from experimental and unstable repositories.

The only way I could log back in to KDE was to remove Splashy.

I want a stable and secure box over something that looks good any day.

Yea I have heard alot of problems with BootSplashing, I don't think I'm going to bother with it now :(.

I love the small Gentoo text on bootup though :(
