Gtk menubars

Hello
I'm trying to create a panel applet with menu just like the typical "Applications | Places | System" menu. I use gtk's menubar and it looks ok, but getting context menu for it (one with move / remove / lock options) is impossible.
What should I do, to make it work?

PS. Is there a cvs/svn/whatever for gnome with web interface (I mean gnome sources, not program)? I can't find one.

Found this one today.
But now I know, that Ubuntu's "Main menu" applet is in some other place. Could anyone point me in the right direction? (sources...)
