View Full Version : Quake 3 sound malfunctioning (Intel chipset)

I'm playing ioQuake3 in Kubuntu, and am having some sound troubles. Chiefly, all sounds are delayed by 1/3 - 1/2 second. This, of course, doesn't go over too well when someone's shooting at you.

Second, when there's a lot of action going on (i.e.- lots of people playing at once, lots of shooting, etc.) my sound will become all garbled, nasty and useless.

I know it's not a hardware issue, because I didn't have any of these problems in Suse 10.1. What could be the problem?
