keyboard input not working!

Installed dapper a couple of nights ago on my Powermac G4 (digital audio) everything went fine until I needed to use the terminal, I typed and nothing happened. The mouse seems to work ok and some keys on the keyboard (Apple Pro Keyboard USB)I selected macintosh keyboard layout but this didn't solve the issue, help!

Thanks for your help. I managed to get the input working by setting the keyboard prefs. to default as the problem seems to be when I select Macintosh in the keyboard prefs. The keyboard is working now but with microshaft keyboard layout. Anyone know the best way of getting an Apple Pro Keyboard (usb) to work correctly with Ubuntu? I'm a virgin when it comes to LINUX, so your help would be most appreciated.

Managed to get everything working once I'd set up my adsl modem and updated from the internet.
