My guess is that you would have to compile it from source... I'm still using 1.1.3 on Linux and 2.0BETA1 on Windows.

Download from http://www.openoffice.org/

Hi,

You can download the deb package it is in a thread somewhere on this site. Just look for file OOo_SRC680_m85_en-US_native_LinuxIntel_install_deb.tar.gz. Sorry I cannot remembet the site I downloaded it from but it works fine.

It will install into your /opt dir just run it from there until the finished version comes out

good luck

I love OO, as it is, and with the new release coming up, I plan on never using MS Office again... however, my school blows and has MS Office, and I hate using it.

I just like the look and feel of OOo. M$ Office's look and feel (for me anyway) is agonizingly painful. I think it's cool how you can tell which programs have been made for Un*X and which ones have been made for Windows. I like the Un*x look and feel.

I hope OOo makes their Powerpoint type program a little more userfriendly. I could sitdown and make a kickass presentation with MS Office but if I sat down with OOo office it wouldn't be that great.

I agree on that, just had to make a presentation and used Oo (looks like eyes but w/e) and it wasnt as good as Powerpoint. The lack of templates and sorts was a real let down.:|
