I just put this thread up to see if anyone had any suggestions on who we should interview next. We are open to anyone! Your thoughts and comments will be much appreciated.

Mark Shuttleworth.

And Batman.

Linus Torvalds

Well, I tried. Batman didn't call back (maybe he was fighting crime...and of course I called Bruce Wayne as well), Linus refused to do the interview because I use Gnome and I haven't tried Mark yet.

TJ,
how about R. Stallman?

that would be a good one!

I agree. I don't know if he would take us seriously right now. I think we should try to interview more people involved with ubuntu for the moment. But yeah, Stallman would be a cool interview.

i think if we emailed him we could maybe get him.
from what i have heard from other podcasts, he makes a lot of demands.
but i suppose we could email him and see what happenes.

How about Ubuntu_Geek ? I wouldn't mind knowing about the first forum ideas and some of the technical stuff.
Maybe ask about some of the more interesting/ humourous/ past threads.

Maybe someone from XGL/Compiz, so we can find out what direction they're headed and what we can expect in the future. It's pretty new, and things are changing rapidly.

How about you interview Jeff Waugh, and ask him about what he did, why he left, and what his thoughts are for the future of Ubuntu?

ok on a more serious note what about Matt Zimmerman, don't know if he's already come up in the past but he would be good.

Torvalds would be great.. so would RMS.

Otherwise, Ubuntu-Geek, or some other great forum members.

I don't think RMS would come on the show. He'd get pretty annoyed that you use Skype and have an MP3 feed of your podcast ;-)

I'd simply like you to interview an ordinary user who is doing something completely different with Ubuntu to you four guys. For instance, someone who's running it on PPC to tell you what the situation is with Ubuntu on Macs, or someone who's using it as a Java development platform or in a studio setting, or someone who's heavily using Edubuntu, Xubuntu, or nUbuntu.

I am running Ubuntu ona PPC and would be glad to offer my troublesome quest to you guys. Its been a great but extremly annoying journey (no .debs). Also I am trying to push Ubuntu into my school system though thats not working at all. Maybe they will respect my oppinions after a few years of the Academy of IT (which forces us to use Windows I think this upcomming year Ia m going to push Linux some how).

You guys are always saying how Linux can be just as easy to use as windows...i think you should get a Linux newbie on to talk about whats hard and scary to new users about Ubuntu and Linux.
Prolly not what you had in mind for suggestens but thats what id like to see ^^.

We get those all the time in the forums...
But it might be a good idea...unless he starts bashing linux unneccasarily.

Well, im new to linux, about a few days old, and in a few days i whent from "God this is way freaking annoying" to "Blah linux just isn't up to windows level" to "Omg....i freaking LOVE LINUX".
So im fresh from that experience XD, there are still afew things that annoy me here and there, but i like taking the time and figuring out how to fix them.

i know a bunch of people i could interview who are windows users.

the way to go about it is to have them use ubuntu for a few days and then interview them about their experiance with it.

I was exactly the same when I came to linux, originalt to use a program which was only gratis if you used linux, which i needed to help with the development of a hacking game which went nowhere.

Also, I need to persuade my school to use linux, they have a BIG dilema on there hands, half the school uses Macs, alot of which cant be upgraded to OSX, meaning they cant upgrade ANY of them to OSX or they would have to upgrade the server also (meaning the older ones couldnt use the server).

And the other half uses windows, and if stuffed to the brim with viruses and pirating.

I think if they converted the entire school to ubuntu, a lot of moneyhassle would be saved in the long run (they are building a ew school, which is meant to be all modern, uncluding OSX, but at this rate they wont give us the cash to get all the new MACS)

Ok... That post was waaaaaaaaaaay longer than it was man to be.... and off topic too, maybe ill stick it in my blog somewhere....

You know who I think it would be really cool to interview? The new Ubuntu Community Manager, Jono Bacono.

Agreed, Jono would be good to interview and entertaining too if lugradio is anything to go by.

Elvis would be another, heard he's been seen near Redmond giving out free copies of Vista recently...
