Hi, I have to teach basic use of Ubuntu (using Internet browser, e-mail, ...) to some basic users with very little computer knowledge. I searched on the net for a OpenOffice.org or TeX presentation on Ubuntu but I found nothing.
Does someone know if there is such course?

What browser, e-mail, etc. will you be using for the class?

Hi, I want to replace some Windows machine with Ubuntu OS on some machine of my company (starting with "low level" users, which they only uses Internet / mail / basic word processing) and want to do an introductive course to them. I will give each user a standard login, so that he cannot install additional programs. In general I want to use the standard Ubuntu programs. I'll surely use firefox as a web browser. For the e-mail application I am unsure between Thunderbird (which is more know, because is also available for Windows) and Evolution (which is the default).

Do you have access yo any materials that are used to teach them how to use the MS equivilents? If these are in outline format then you could adapt the outline to fit. That is what I would do if I were teaching a class - I've taught beginner classes in the past but was always given an outline.

Try OOAuthors @ http://oooauthors.org/en/ for materials on Openoffice.org

or you can try the INGOTS course material:

For Open Office:

I haven't used these, but I've always thought they looked good:

For Thunderbird:

Again haven't used it myself, but looks useful
