I installed it but how do I run it ?

There is no entry under applicattions and runing it from a terminal does not work for me. I also checked out "Welcome to EasyUbuntu", "Get EasyUbuntu", and "Overview of EasyUbuntu" pages, looked at the "readme" file and it is not mentioned how to run EasyUbuntu.

I do have it installed, when the install finished it came up on my screen.

Do run the EasyUbuntu installation, you'll need to open up a terminal. To do that click on Applications > Accessories > Terminal

Copy the following and paste it into the terminal.

wget http://easyubuntu.freecontrib.org/files/easyubuntu-3.022.tar.gz
tar -zxf easyubuntu-3.022.tar.gz
cd easyubuntu
sudo python easyubuntu.in

When prompted, provide the password for the current account that you are on. Let me know if you have success, as I am also trying to run this. It worked for me brilliantly 2 weeks ago when I installed it on a PPC machine. But now I'm trying to install it on an x86 machine without success.

Ha ha, sorry. I just reread your post and I misunderstood what you meant.

EasyUbuntu isn't a program that you run like most others. You run it once just to install all the codecs and stuff, allowing you to listen to mp3s, watch this or that video, as well as installing java and flash and the like. It's basically one easy program used to install a bunch of stuff that a former Windows user may be missing.

I hope that better answers your question.

Ah, I understand what you mean. Thank you for the reply and explanation.

So what if I needed to remove easyubuntu; can I just safely delete the folder?

Yes deleting the folder for easy ubuntu will not affect the software installed by it. You will still be able to play mp3s and dvds and stuff.

Barrak,
So, I understand that EasyUbuntu only needs to run once, but how do you do that? Double clicking various icons in the EasyUbuntu folder doesn't seem to do anything.
