IDEA: The complete list of repositories

Hello,

After searching on the forums and the wiki, I didn't find a list of all the repositories that are used by most ubuntu users. The following list will consist of repositories officially supported by the ubuntu team and ones made by others, with the intention of being used on the ubuntu distro .

My proposal/suggestion would be to edit this page - http://www.ubuntulinux.org/ubuntu/components/

and then append the list of all of the repositories to the corresponding sections.

Before submitting this to the wiki, I was asking for your comments/suggestions on this information/tutorial; and if it would be serve on the above location or somewhere else like:
- its own how-to on the forums
- the unofficial starter guide [although it hasn't been updated in the pastmonth, and the repository information may need to be maintained a pace more carefully that...]
- another wiki entry

I've attached a screenshot of what the entry would look like [crudely done], in the wiki.

[i]This implimentation may have to be altered, as the etc/apt/sources.list doesn't list each entry multiple times [for each section]; rather it just lists the one line.....
i.e.deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ warty main restricted universe

Could we ask www.apt-get.org to include an ubuntu (or several, Warty, Hoary, Bendy) repositories?

Then link apt-get.org to the wiki. Apt-get.org is database driven, so it can be kept up to date easily.

What would be really cool is a package search page (like to one on the wiki) but that includes (and scans) the unofficial repositories (and the backports). One-stop shopping.
