Just want to know some good games that will run on Linux (Possibly free games, but not necessary), I already have America's Army, Enemy Territory, and Quake 3 Arena (Which are also the 3 main games I play on Windows), any other games? any MMO/MMORPG style games available?

They look good, I'll try them out, I'm usually up for most any FPS or shooter game.

I didn't mention it because he already said he had it installed. So why repeat the same thing twice.
However, I will make mention of the ET MOD True Combat Elite which can be found HERE (http://truecombat.com/intro.php). It well worth the download and is by far one of my favorite MODs for ET. ET itself is also one of my favorite games for linux.

Err, so if I have Battlefield 1945 already and do not have Quake 3, which one should I download? Which is the best? Wolfenstein? Quake 3 engine is free, no? Do I even need it? I'm so confused!

If you're into x4 Strategy Dominions 2 (and very soon Dominions 3) is a must. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/Illwinter/d2/1.htm It's commercial though but a very great game.

I tried "Enemy Territory". Very, er, frantic. Is that a commen trait amongst Quake3-based games in general?

Generally, yes. Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory is still considered one of slower Q3-based games. But there's a mod to W:ET called True Combat:Elite, which is supposed to be close to reality. This probably means the action is slower.
I think no one mentioned Nexuiz. It smells like a Quake1 clone with updated graphics.

This is true, True Combat: Elite is pretty realistic; much more so than Counter-Strike, for example. It's also very good. I highly recomend giving it a try.
The only MMORPG that will run in Linux without costing you anything extra (ie. Cedega) is WoW. An older MMORPG such as EQ or something might have a chance. Check Wine's application database (http://appdb.winehq.org/).
Scorched 3D is also a good, unique, game. Chromium is a good scrolling shooter. Battle for Wesnoth is a fun turn-based RPG and Warzone 2100 is a good RTS game.
Nexuiz and Tremulous, which have already been mentioned, are nice FPS games.

Oy, Eternal Lands and Plane Shift are also MMORPGS and they are free as in beer, and as in speech.
There is also TA Spring.. Try it out... I installed it today, and I like it!

Planeshift is an MMORPG, which is free, and available natively for Linux.
Check out this link (http://www.planeshift.it/main_01.html) for the games home page.
You will note that it mentions that the latest Linux client is not yet available for downloading. Although this may have changed since I last visited the site.
If this is the case you can download the client from here (http://hydlaa.com/smf/index.php?topic=19389.0). This is a link to the Linux forum page, where a bloke known as Xordon maintains the Linux client.
Xordon is really helpful, and I would suggest that if you have any difficulty installing / using the Linux client, that you drop by this forum page.
Hope that you find this useful.
BTW, I haven't played Planeshift for some time now and if the changes mentioned in the log (http://www.planeshift.it/update0.3.015.html) are anything to go by the game has improved greatly.
Cheers

I'm pretty sure Diablo 2 runs in Wine. If it doesn't, I know it runs in Cedega.
In regards to Planeshift, it's in very early development and wasn't really playable (to me) when I tried it a month or so ago.

well funnything is it seems more of a clone of Quake 3 Arena then Quake 1 as it states
Welcome to the Nexuiz project website. Nexuiz is a 3d deathmatch game project, created online by a team of developers called Alientrap.
and from the screenshots looks to be more of a Multi player game then a single player remake of Quake 1

It does. You need a NOCD crack though. I used to have a bookmark somewhere with installation instructions, but I seem to have lost it. :-k

True Combat: Elite
is a ET mod, a somewhat clone from counter-strike, though I prefer hands down over cs. It's much more realistic.
At the moment you have to install it as an ET mod, but the next version which should be released very soon will be a stand-alone version. Yes, it is a native linux port.

Thanks for all the replies, I've downloaded Tremulous and Warsow and the ET mod, haven't gotten around to installing anything yet though. And as far as MMORPG's are concerned, its not a real big deal, just been looking for something to play online besides FPS games, I use to play RuneScape but I quit after a while.

You know I had that problem last night. I turned off all the filters, but there were only 3 or 4 servers with players actually on. I chalked it up to the fact that I didn't start until 11:00 at night, but seeing as you've had the problem, I'm not so sure.
Also, ther current version is still a test version, so maybe more players will hop on board later. I hope so. It's a shame really because it's a great game.

I've never had problems finding servers for TC:E. With my standard filters on (exclude empty or full servers, only servers with punkbuster, exclude password protected servers) I alway have a couple of servers to chose from. Right now I've got 8 servers for Bodycount an about a dozen for Objective in the list.
The number of populated servers you see probably depends on where you live. If you join at 11 pm in the US, its about 4 or 5 am in Europe, so there will be mostly players from America at that time.

Not to hijack this thread, but it seems there's tools for finding TC:E servers. One called XQF for Linux.
I found the info here (http://truecombat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4714&highlight=servers).

Doom 3 is a good game for Linux if your computer can handle it. It's got great mods like Last Man Standing Coop (http://lms.d3files.com/), In Hell (http://www.3dgamersedge.com/doom3/reviews/inhell.html), and Classic Doom 3 (http://cdoom.d3files.com/).
