I cannot send Comcast mail using Evolution 3.2.3 in ubuntu 12.04 lts.

I believe I am using all the correct settings from doing Google searches.

Can someone help?

Change the outgoing port to 465.

I did a search on Google and only found older instructions (spent a couple of hours on it too before I asked for help) and then you sent me:

Apparently dad might have gotten the memo and didn't know what it was about. But then he is 87. And using Ubuntu!

Changing the ports in all of his accounts did the trick.

As far as marking threads as "Solved", I've never done this, but I did find an answer here:

As far as Comcast e-mail, I'm glad you have it fixed.
I have just been logging into Comcast's web site and reading and sending emails from there.
The reason I do that is, I can see all my emails regardless of which computer I am on ( we have 3 ).
