Has anyone tried this out yet? :- http://lazydragon.org/ http://linuxtracker.org/torrents-details.php?id=2368
I'm a huge fan of mini distros (Dyn:Bolic, DSL) but I thought I would go for a big fat one. This distro is a live dvd and weighs in at a hefty 2 and a half Gigs (good job it's a torrent download).
I was looking around for a distro with built in "out of the box" Xgl/Compiz for my long suffering Ati using friends, (I use nVidia) and came across this.
I know that Kororaa is the talk of the town at the moment, but as usual I wanted to be different.
If you've used this distro, feel free to post. If not, I will give it a complete test and report back what I find.

this does look interesting but I have an embarrassingly silly question....how do you boot from DVD?

[Just like you boot from cd...]
This looks promising...I will test it:)

Uhh...I question the integrity of this.
LazyDragon Gnu/Linux is a Linux distro aimed at video and audio production.Unfortunatly their aren't many distributions aimed..

Hi , My name's cat , I make the LazyDragon live DVD .
Thanks for pointing out the spelling mistake , How stupid of me not to notice. I started LazyDragon about six months ago , I wanted to create a slackware based installable live dvd to be used for all kinds of media creation . Just recently a new guy 'TheOFFSet' , who I met on linuxquestions has joined me to help produce it . So far we've released 3 ISO's , the last being the final release candidate for V.1 . So far , response has been excellent , we still need more people to report on the success of the Xgl/Compiz system with both Ati and Nvidia cards . Nvidia support has shown to very stable , though Ati support hasn't been properly tested . LazyDragon , in essence , is a clean full slackware current system + an awesome range of MIDI/Audio/Video software , 3D+online games , Xgl/Compiz X-server(Testing) , Xorg7.0 is default . Uncompressed it comes to about 6.5 gigs . The latest release has the edition of our new animated bootsplash , alternate SMP kernel ,alternate 1000hz low latency kernel and many package updates and testing additions such as Gnu-HALO .
If you have any questions at all , please dont hesitate to ask

Ok, has anyone got this torrent to download quickly ?
I started at 80 Kb/s and then it went right down to 2-3Kb/s, I tried every tweak possible, maybe Spanish net congestion (we only have 1Mb here).
I have given up after 3 tries. :(

The torrent for Lazy2006 is really slow at the moment . I underestimated how many people would be interested in it .
At the moment Im the only seeder(apart from partials) and I've only got a 30kb upload . It should get faster in a few days , after the first lot of people have finished downloading it .

Yeah, but how long does it take to get it in the first place? I opened up to 30 Kb/s (1Mb ADSL) for downloaders, I was receiving 2Kb/s.
People are capping there uploads, and then not seeding once they have got it. I hate it when that happens !
I'll try again next week, it's just that i hope the wait for a 1 Gb + distro is worth it. I really liked the write up, and I want to give it a test drive.

If anyone is interested, I've mirrored this distro on my site. It should be faster than Distrowatch & http downloads can be resumed.
