What is a "menee" laptop? Even if you meant "mini' laptop, that doesn't give us anything to go on. Would be better to pass along the make and model.

As to restoring, you will need one of the following to restore to the original settings:
1) Recovery partition on the drive -- which has not been touched
2) Set of recovery CDs, or a recovery DVD
3) A drive image backoff you made before you changed it to install Ubuntu

If you have none of these, you might be able to order 2) from the laptop supplier -- for a fee.

We now have to ask you what you mean by the expression "factory settings." Ubuntu is developed by a company called Canonical. It is a software company. It does not make laptops. What you have is a laptop with Ubuntu installed as the operating system. You have not told us the make of the laptop. Do you not have a laptopn user guide? It would not be wise for us to tell you to do this or that until you have given us a clear explanation of what you want to do.

You should also explain what you mean by "will not startup." Re-setting the machine to factory settings will not make any difference if the laptop is broken. If you are seeing a menu that lists Ubuntu as a choice of operating system to load, then the machine most definitely has started up.

Hello and wlcome to the forums!

Forgive me an obvious question, but what exactly happens if you highlight the first selection and press enter?
