WMV Codec?

Ive searched this forum for someone having a similar problem to me, which is not being able to play .wmv files. Yet I find only 1 topic, and dont find it very helpfull.

Basically when I try to play wmv files with mplayer it just plays the sound and no video. When i try and play it with xine it just doesnt play atall. (i think 1 or 2 wmv files do actually work)

Im sure i need some sort of codec for it to play. Any idea where I can get one?

change the name to uppercase WMV. And do what this says:
