I'm having some difficulties with sound in Ubuntu. Strangely enough it only seems to be affecting games. Sound output from amaroK is fine. I've installed UT (using the Loki installer (http://www.liflg.org/?catid=6&gameid=51)) and Dark-Oberon (http://dark-oberon.sourceforge.net/). The problem is both of them give choppy sound. Perhaps stuttering would be a better word.
At any rate, I've tried installing alsa-oss and running both with "aoss" but this produces noise in UT and no sound in Dark-Oberon. I've even changed the driver used by UT in its config file.
Google doesn't seem too forthcoming on this issue. Could anyone assist me please? If it helps I'm using an AC97 audio device integrated on my motherboard.
