I didn't find anything useful in Linux for GameBoy Advance nor Xbox nor Playstation2, let's see what they can do with linux+umd discs :D.

What's Linux for Gameboy advance? You probably couldn't do anything with it because there wouldn't be much to do on it except command line.

That is my point .
And what would you want to do with a PSP ? Play videos? PSP does it . Chat ? PSP will have it once it enables Full Online capacities. Hack ? Please . Run copied games ? Like ps2ownz people won't do that . What else?

This one is a bit farther in development. Both look quite interesting though.
Linux on a handheld that is less than $200.. fabulous. ;d

Awesome! The more devices that run Linux the better

While I'm all for linux everywhere possible [boo microsoft] why exactly do you need it on a portable like PSP and the DS?
What exactly are you going to be able to do that you couldn't do with just a simple hack or mod or what ever?
Is it really worth the effort to make a PSP or DS run something that will have little to no use for the average consumer?

If they can make it work with a tiny-X(or something like that), I would find it very useful as a carry around VNC viewer into my home server. It is lightweight, relatively cheap(by the time linux is ready for it).
I can use it at home as a media PC control, or in areas with hotspot support and using it as a moving X-terminal on battery.
The same thing can be done today with tablet PC or sub-B5 notebooks(like those from Japan) but they are still more bulky(than PSP) and more expensive.

The cool factor alone is worth it. The look on winders users faces when i tell them that my PS2 is providing NFS/Samba services to my home PC's is priceless.
Plus mips processors rock!

So basically you'd have an expensive remote control? I understand the VNC thing, that can be very useful, especially if you could configure some of the buttons to work like a mouse, but you'd most likely need a keyboard thing-a-ma-jig too, for passwords [always password protect VNC :-p] or to actually do most stuff.
Other than that I don't see a high use for linux on portables.
Maybe it'd be better to just develop a VNC app instead of a whole OS. That way you could VNC into linux and then actually get real work done... [no offense to anyone]

Yup, just as iPod is an expensive walkman, or Mecedes an expensive Kia.
I always have VNC through SSH without any password.

Bleah you can always get a used Zaurus (Qt) or a Yopy (X) on eBay which is a full Linux portable system..the older models are cheap.
