Hi,

Just did a install of Ubuntu on my Sun Ultra1 and when it rebooted I got:

[ 9.6900351 rtc_init: no PC rtc found
_

Seems to just hang there :/

So I went to http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=203413&highlight=sparc+cdrom and thought maybe that would help me, but alas, now after the install I cannot seem to boot from cdrom to get to the repair bit...

So can someone tell me how to boot from cdrom since boot cdrom is not working? Or is there some other way to make this work on my Ultra1.

I have been using netBSD on it successfully, but since it wasn't really doing anything important, I figured I'd give ubuntu a shot :)

Addition to above:

It did bootwith "ALERT! sda2 does not exist. Dropping to shell" (yes it does)

nad I am still stuck though. if the other thing doesn't matter ...well I stil need to know how to boot from CD again...

Thanks

Greg

I received the same error..

"ALERT! sdb2 does not exist. Dropping to shell" (yes it does)

Did you figure out why the above error message was happening?

thanks,
