View Full Version : [ubuntu] CR-48 wireless networks disappear while at school

I am using a CR-48 Chromebook, with Ubuntu dual-boot. I am currently on version 12.04. I have been having issues connecting to my university's wifi. Unfortunately, none of the other threads on here have helped.

My CR-48 will connect to the school's network (any of the 3: wpa2, unsecured, and another secured) for about 5-10 seconds, then the network will disconnect. When I look to reconnect to the network in the network-manager applet drop-down, all the networks are gone and they slow reappear and eventually the network will reconnect for 5-10 more seconds and repeat the process all over again.

It seems as though the wireless card is disabling itself every 10 seconds or so, since the networks keep disappearing from the list, but I'm not sure.

I don't think this happens with my wifi at home.

I tried switching to Wicd, but it wasn't picking up wifi at all, so I switched back to network-manager.

I know I should be posting logs and such, but I'm not sure of the proper commands to display the required output that people may ask for.

Any help would be appreciated.
