VLC cannot install due to unmet dependencies

I tried installing vlc, but I got the following error

I would think you know that you are or were using the videolan master daily ppa.

So if you are using, (ppa enabled), & wish to continue doing so then just run -

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install vlc
(you may have updated before all the new packages were avail.

If you were using & no longer have the ppa enabled & don't want to use then -

sudo apt-get purge vlc-data && \
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install vlc

That should be automatically enabled now.
If referring to being in the sound menu & not showing then, either -

Open vlc > Tools > preferences & change something, save. (Like only one instance, whatever.
Then close & re-open vlc, should be there in menu.

Or > dconf-editor > com.canonical.indicator.sound > add vlc to "interested-media-players". screen

I tried the dconf method and it worked. My original goal was to have it recognize the media keys on my keyboard. So I have achieved that too. Thanks.
