USB Gaming Mouse recognized as keyboard

I am trying to make my new usb gaming mouse (USB Nova Slider SX200) working without success.

First try on the french Ubuntu forum.

My system is 12.04 LTS

But I am not sure that I understand well the solution:

In /usr/src/linux/include/linux/hid.h
change the value of the constant in line 344
Code:
#define HID_MAX_USAGES 12288
from 12288 to a value greater than 32k,
recompile and install the new kernel.


I have to :
- Modify the hid.h file.
- Uncomment this line and modify the value.
- Recompile and install the kernel

Could you confirm me the steps of that method ? Is it easy ?

That is all well beyond my level of knowledge, but for what it is worth, I couldn't see anything there that instructs you to remove the #.

I missunderstood comments with shell (#) and #define in C language.
