weird error message whenever use synaptic or updater!!

whenever i try install an application or update one i get a strange error message. can anyone please help me out. thanks

here's the error msg:

E: selinux-policy-default: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2

can anyone please help me out? will removing the selinux package help or will this wreck my system?

You can always try removing it. I don't know anyone who's running SELinux with ubuntu, but I do know that it comes standard with SuSE and Fedora. Since both of those distro's are RPM based, it's possible that apt conflicts with it. Perhaps asking questions about it on the debian forums would help.

it's ok someone in irc helped me out. they told me to put the "exit" command in one of the scripts and now it just bypasses. thanks for helping me out everyone.
