Hi all,

I'm a newbie and I want to buy a new laptop to run Ubuntu on. Not bothered about having Windows as it will force to to finally learn Ubuntu properly. Has anyone got any recommendation on what/where to purchase? UK - looking at 400 ?

Have a look at PCSPECIALIST - Custom PCs (http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/) and http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/home.html both of whom will sell laptops and desktops with no OS.

The first of those gives you the option online to customise the build to whetever you want, allowing you to pick hardware that is known to be good with Linux, eg intel.
