yeah i know this isn't other linux. i downloaded the beta and tried to install it. i need to know vista for my job otherwise i wouldn't have touched it. when i try to install it it asks for a activation key. i have tried 3 XP keys and 1 2000 key. what does it want exactly?

It wants a windows vista key, from the MS site. These were freely available until about a week ago, when the customer testing program was shut down. Sorry, but you cannot test that one, you will now have to wait until final, unless you can find someone with an un-used key.

What kind of IT department would take ANY (yes Linux too) OS in the first month before the initial bugs are worked out.

hmmm, possibly debian dosn't count if the legends are true.

I have a cd key from their public beta, I saved the gif image of it, but then decided not to waste my bandwidth and didn't download vista after all, if you want it PM me your email address and I can send it to you. It's unused and can be legally used on 3 seperate computers.
