Anyone?

Hi, I'm a 30 year developer but only 2 years doing system admin for a Ubuntu Server hosted at GoDaddy. I would like to upgrade the server to the latest LTS and have a few questions.

First, obviously this is all a remote install and when I ssh to the system this is the header information just so you know where I currentently am at:

Ubuntu SMP Mon Mar 5 21:23:19 UTC 2012 i686 GNU/Linux
Ubuntu 10.10

Welcome to Ubuntu!
* Documentation: https://help.ubuntu.com/

System information disabled due to load higher than 2.0

New release 'natty' available.
Run 'do-release-upgrade' to upgrade to it.

Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS

Welcome to Ubuntu!
* Documentation: https://help.ubuntu.com/

System information disabled due to load higher than 2.0

New release 'maverick' available.
Run 'do-release-upgrade' to upgrade to it.

First things first.
Why does it list 2 versions 10.10 and 10.04.2 ?

and

lsb_release -a

yields:

No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 10.10
Release: 10.10
Codename: maverick
