Hi there,
It would be nice to have the latest versions of some useful applications in the repository of both warty and hoary:
Alexandria http://alexandria.rubyforge.org/
GnomePPP http://www.gnome-ppp.org/
and to add (it is not in the repository)
Wi Fi radar
http://www.bitbuilder.com/wifi_radar/
Thanks.

I don't know about Warty, but both the applications you mention there are in the Universe repository of Hoary.
If you aren't accessing them, then you can find out how to do so using the Universe Packages guide at http://www.ubuntulinux.org/wiki/UniversePackages, which also gives advice on how to request additional packages to be added there.

Yes, but both are old versions.

Ah, so I see.
In which case, you need to contact MOTU and request to get it updated. How that's done seems a little unclear though (http://www.ubuntulinux.org/wiki/UniversePackages mentions contacting MOTU, but doesn't seem to say how)

Thanks,
I'll try that.

It would be better to do it the old fashion, and install it without the middle man, and install it from source. Or, use the backports repository. There's a link on the sidebar of these forums.
