I notice in this screenshot ( http://www.senko.net/blog/gvk/orig/2000_gnome.jpg ), in the bit of code it says GNOME is pronounced "Gah-NOME" - I never knew that! I always just pronounced it as it was spelt.

I've always thought it was supposed to be pronounced as Guh-NOME? Like Guh-NU.

I assumed it was a silent g as in garden gnomes :S

I can't be bothered to pronounce it like that so I say it like the garden ornament. I just say GNU with each letter at a time.
It's funny how GNOME was a clone of KDE in the old days. (6 years ago).
It's amazing how much they have both advanced over the years.
