Last time I checked, Ubuntu recognized iso files and burns them to a CD just like isos should be... But then again I don't use the 64 version.

Yes all of the ones available for 32bit are available for 64bit. gnomebaker, k3b, ect

.... and if you right click on an iso file, you can burn it directly to disk.

Do you mean a special way to burn a disk to boot a 64-bit OS? You just burn the disk the regular way. The kernel and packages are different, but the filesystem is the same.

I've used K3b successfully (use apt-get or synaptic to get it). It is my favorite CD/DVD writing software.

xfburn worked great for me, I used it simply because it was a part of XFCE. True to the XFCE spirit it is quite minimalistic and does only what I want it to do.
