Hey all---

I'm looking into the Julia language for scientific computing. What's convenient is that there is good documentation and online access at www.julia.forio.com (http://ubuntuforums.org/www.julia.forio.com). I'd like to recommend it to some beginning Linear algebra students, but I can't figure out if there is support for general math procedures such as solving one-variable equations. In particular, Julia can find the eigenvalues of a matrix, but I couldn't figure out how to solve a quadratic with it.

Thanks in advance for any help.
