View Full Version : [all variants] Integrated Intel GPU not activated in Macbook Pro

October 11th, 2012, 11:40 AM
The macbook pro I have has 2 GPUs, a dedicated NVidia card (GeForce GT 330M) and an integrated intel gpu (intel HD graphics).

For some reason, I can only access the nvidia card, which is an unnecessary power drain if all I'm doing is browsing the internet. However, the intel gpu doesn't seem to get powered on at all.

Only the nvidia card appears:

$ lspci | grep VGA

$ dmesg | grep intel

[ 23.966407] snd_hda_intel 0000:01:00.1: setting latency timer to 64

I don't mind if I have to reboot to switch between cards, I just want to get the intel gpu working in the first place.
