I'm looking for a KDE based linux distro that is 200 MB's or less with hardware support and neccesary software (browser, terminal...).....preferably based on debain, but if not that's fine... Can anyone help? Thanx!

KDE seems to take up more than 200 megs by itself.

So I wish you the best of luck, but suggest you look at IceWM or a larger harddrive.

Yeah KDE isnt the lightest of all DEs. Damn Small Linux is at least based in debian, and its only 50 megabytes. Maybe give that a try even though it is not KDE.

"Bonzai Linux has been build to offer a Debian based Desktop-OS that fits on a 180MB CD-R(W). The Distribution includes the current stable version of KDE and has been modified for easier installation."

Slax standard uses KDE and is only 191MB download. Runs from USB, liveCD.

Slax. It installs compressed, like a Live CD, but it is rather small.

What about Puppy Linux? Isn't that one KDE, and extremely small?

Puppy Linux isn't KDE. I know that for a fact.

I tried nimbleX (http://nimblex.net/) once and kind of liked it. It's based off slack and comes in under 200mb like you want, but I can't tell you much more since this was a while ago.

I tried it, but it appears to be based on Slax, even though the site does not say it is. If not, they were at least formed in very similar ways.

Uncompressed KDE is about 210 MB. Uncompressed Gnome is about 180 MB.
