View Full Version : [ubuntu] install takes to long

have a 2.80 ghz p4 2 double cpu with 4 gig ram, os is ubuntu 9.04 jaunty drive is 30 gb. i put cd in cd rom drive and reboot at start up i press (f eight) and select boot device cd rom i press install then a window pops up saying installation type device for boot loader installation then i press install now and it say no root file system is defined please correct this from the partitioning menu. ok so how do i do this? and does it takes a long time to do some think. is this normal

Hi, 9.04 had reached EOL (End of Life) in 2010 and is no longer supported. You may wish to consider using the latest version of Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin.

i im using 9.04 os want to upgrade to 12.04 and its the 12.04 that I want to install

You need to scrap that 9o4 CD and get 12o4.
