Ubuntu 12.04 LTS problems with Kstars

Hi,
on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS I have the following problems with Kstars:


Normally objects images appear when zooming into them. I loaded the images but they do not appear. Only green ellipses.
A lot of objects, e.g. globular clusters, are not in the list of observable objects.
Searching for an object and selecting it centers the display, but the object is not visible.

Does anyone have the same observation? Is there a solution?

Hi ksarnow; welcome to the forums :)

I know nothing about this type of software, but if you can't get it to work there are other choices.
