Hi, I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 , I was editing a c source file with Kate, when I tried to save it there was this warning like the backup file could not be saved(or something similar). I pressed "ok" or something. I thought the file was saved. Then after a reboot, the source file was empty(same directory same name). I lost hours of work. So could anyone help me how I can recover the content of that file?

Bests,

It sounds rather unlikely that the backup file was saved (given the message), so if neither the backup or the file contain your data, you've lost it. If you ever get errors regarding saving, try and save elsewhere with another name, but never assume it saved.
