There are a few distros that lead Linux. Ubu,Fedora,Opensuse,Mint
and Debian. WHy is Debian considered a distro instead of just part of the general Linux framework??? There is a downloadable version called Debian?? comments..

Hi

Debian is one of the oldest distros and is used as a base for many others including Ubuntu. See debian.org

Yeah it's like a tree.

xubuntu, kubuntu.. etc.. based on ubuntu
ubuntu based on debian.. etc

Because Debian IS a distro...
