How to choose which apps start on boot?

Hey guys,

So, I'm new to Ubuntu, but I've been able to get around it, but I'm having a problem, I don't know how to add applications to startup. Now, in various sites, and forums, they said to right-click the app and choose properties, but the problem is, right-click just opens the app. What can I do?

Thank you. I did a little search on how to use terminal, and found how to run apps from terminal, and I now know the command. I still have much to learn, but thank you.
