GTKWifi, at most, shows two or three networks that are in my area, when there are actually many more. Network Manager picks up on these nearby networks, and so does iwlist eth1 scan.
Most of the time, GTKWifi only shows only network, but that can change depending on how many times you click on "Refresh." Refresh will show another network, or two new networks, and the number of networks shown keeps changing.
Also, the GTKWifi network icon on my panel doesn't, when I hover over the icon, tell me the SSID. It tells me the signal strength and the network IP address, but it leaves SSID blank. This is actually one of the main reasons I downloaded GTKWifi, and it would be nice if it works. By the way, the network that I am usually connected to is encrypted, but that shouldn't affect whether GTKWifi shows the SSID name or not.
