The picture you posted seems to show the dock at the bottom of the screen. As far as I know there is no way to get Unity to move the panel from the left hand side of the screen. To get that level of customization, you'll have to upgrade to KDE, XFCE or LXDE. These are easily installed and can fit on your machine along side of each other if need be.

There is also Macbuntu, which claims to be able to set all appearances to be like OS X. However, I have not tried it.

It's not in the repository, either.

There is also an Ubuntu derivative called Pear Linux (Apple/Pear, Pear/Apple).

Install Ubuntu 12.04 and then install Cairo Dock using the Software Centre and then log out and choose Cairo with Gnome+effects and you are without any other panels. :D

It works with the netbooks quite well, at least mine does, which is two years old..

Macbuntu is outdated. BTW, you're right, you can make KDE look like a Mac.

To OP, here's some screenshot of my KDE desktop. And KDE run well on my netbook, too. Just remember, if you turn off some feature on KDE, it'll run lighter (Nepomuk, etc). BTW, the dock is docky ;)

I Tried Macubutnu it was great and had almost everything I wanted for my computer to be like mac but there was a problem as you can see in the attachment that the language was a big problem if anyone of you knows how to fix this I will be greatly satisfied with the macbuntu. Thanks
