I never used it (I use deluge), but qbittorrent (http://www.qbittorrent.org/) has a search built in. It's in the ubuntu repository http://packages.ubuntu.com/precise/qbittorrent (so you can install it from ubuntu and don't need to get it from the qbittorrent site).

I have found additinal apps like
torrent-search (http://torrent-search.sourceforge.net/), it appears to have more advanced search features but even withought using them it seems to find less and stall.

QBittorrent exits when opeing a folder at least on my machine.

Very usefull apps.

I use qbittorrent and it does have a very good search engine. You can also search google, by title followed by filetype:torrent, e.g., "wolverine filetype:torrent"
