Hey all, I've got a quick question, that I wasn't sure where I should look for it, so I thought I'd ask. I have Ubuntu on an old laptop and love it. The only two reasons I haven't moved it to main laptop and desktop yet are games, which Steam is working on, so problem one solved.

The second problem is that I don't plug my desktop directly into my router. Instead I do a shared connection from laptop through an ethernet cable. So my question is, is it possible to keep the same setup, or would I have to buy an actual wireless card for desktop? How would I share the connection in Ubuntu?

Thanks all!

Although I have never done this myself, it is certainly possible.

I think this documentation (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Internet/ConnectionSharing/) will lead you in the right direction.

Best,

Lev

Glad to see your question was answered - could you please mark the thread as "Solved" if you're happy with the answer? To do so, go to "Thread Tools" just above your first post and it's there in the drop-down menu.

Cheers.
