View Full Version : [ubuntu] auto logon to wireless

Forgive me if this question isn't entirely clear. Wifi security is not something that I particularly understand.

The wifi at my school is unsecured in the sense that you don't have to enter a password as part of the actual connection process. But as soon as you connect, it sends me to a web page requesting my ID and password. Much like what happens, IIRC, at many coffee shops and such.

I notice that Windows manages to remember my logon and skip this step. Not just remember the logon and password, but actually skip this step entirely.

Any way I could get Ubuntu (Precise Pangolin) to do this as well?

(And if anybody could by chance tell me how to do the same for my Android 4.0-based tablet, I would be especially grateful.)

Right click the network icon on the panel and choose Edit connection. Select the wifi connection with the problem and click Edit again, then make sure to select Connect automatically and Make available to all users.
