I know that the old Ubuntu is long since gone but it appears as thought the demo site that was up and running has gone the way of the birds too. Is there plans for a new demo site? Are you far off of Hive release rather then the UC package that is out in circulation? I am just probing the scene to see how things are shaping up.
Oh and before I forget are there planned plug-in modules for this new version or are you leaving that open to community development? I'd like to see some sort of Wiki, Wordpress, Video stream plugin but we can't always get what we want can we??
Keep up the good work

I am working on a Hive package I have a bit of work left on the theme system. I get a demo up when the hive package is released, the demo was ran off my home line but I am having a few problems with that right now. As for the plugins I will make a bunch and hopefully the community will too

What type of knowledge are you anticipating being required to write our own plug-ins? Never too early to start a summer project ;)

you basically need to know php, thats really it. I am not sure when I will have the theme and plugin framework done, for the most part it is, I just have the following:
Come up with a standard style sheet
make modules comply with style sheet
make theme installer
make plugin installer.
